Someone close to me recently told me, "I don't want to hate you." She said it in a playful, almost romantic, manner. The phrase stayed with me. I found it striking and told her that I would eventually use it in my music. The sentence, now the title, led me to reflect on the idea of not wanting to hate someone and the theoretical set of circumstances that might lead you there anyway. As you can probably tell, I tend to overthink. I like to believe it makes for good art. Pretty dark, wouldn't you agree? Beautiful, surprisingly.
